Inspiration is EVERYWHERE!
I find inspiration from everywhere. Other designer's beautiful illustrations or surface patterns on wallpaper or fabric. I take inspiration from small parts of their designs whether it being the colour combinations or the floral/botanical drawings or paintings.
My favourite designers are: Amy Butler and Joel Dewberry. I love Amy Butlers bright colour combinations and beautiful repeated patterns that create stunning collections for home-ware and accessories. The fabrics are so easy to work with on bags, which I have made and taught through one-to-one sewing lessons from my home. Joel's repeated patterns for fabrics are really gorgeous and the two colour combinations are really striking with his eclectic mix of design styles that are reminiscent of earlier times.
It is impossible to name all the designers that I have researched, there are just so many, and more cropping up all the time. Each time I look at a designers work, I bookmark the page for future reference. This also applies to companies, tutorials, trade shows, shops, museums and galleries.
