MA Research - Quantitative Questionnaire

Questionnaire to Wallpaper Manufacturers

As part of my primary research, I will be conducting a quantitative questionnaire to one hundred UK wallpaper manufacturers. I will be asking open and closed questions to find out details about their printing services and wallpapers. Building a rapport with these companies will be beneficial for my future working relations as I may wish to produce my own designs for wallpapers in the near future.

The questionnaire will be sent via the professional services of SurveyMonkey.com. Sample questions will be tested initially to iron out any problems with the questions to ensure the best response from recipients.

Once the replies have been recieved, the data will be anylized and evaluated to help me determine the differences between hand block printing and modern mechanically printed papers and to research further into Morris's original prints and printing methods. Information gained on techniqes and textures for wallpapers will help me make informed decisions about adding these substrates on my wallpapers.

Sample questions:

I would like to know which wallpapers are more popular, Morris's re-produced wallpapers or 20th century designs?

What design style of wallpaper is more popular - Florals, chinzes, stripes, checks, dots, plain, ditsy, converstional?
